Low sulfur fuel green petroleum coke

Petroleum coke is a by-product of the oil refining process. It is extracted from raw oil by delayed coking.petroleum coke(often abbreviated as petroleum coke or petroleum coke) are carbonaceous solids that come from refinery cokers or other cracking processes. Other cokes are traditionally extracted from coal. This coke can be fuel grade (high in sulfur and metals) or anode grade (low in sulfur and metals). The raw coke coming directly from the coker is usually called green coke. "Green" in this context means unprocessed. Green coke is further processed by calcination in a rotary kiln to remove residual volatile hydrocarbons from the coke. Calcined petroleum coke can be further processed in the anode oven to produce anode coke with the desired shape and physical properties. Anodes are mainly used in the aluminum and steel industries. Petroleum coke has a carbon content of more than 90 percent and emits 5 to 10 percent more carbon dioxide (CO2) per unit of energy when burned than coal. Due to the higher energy content of pet coke, pet coke emits 30% to 80% more carbon dioxide per unit weight than coal. CO2 production per unit of energy from coal and coke differs very little and depends on moisture in coal (increases CO2 per unit of energy - heat of combustion) and volatile hydrocarbons in coal and coke (reduces CO2 per unit of energy ) ).
