Operation Guide

  • Considering that some materials are dangerous goods, it is recommended to post a safety data list of all dangerous goods at the production site.
  • Avoid direct contact with toxic substances.
  • All employees must be familiar with the use of hazardous materials and cleaning methods.
  • Goggles must be worn at all times in the work area.
  • Adequate ventilation must be ensured if there is any vapor or dust on site.
  • All equipment, including spray guns, wires, lamps, transmission lines, etc., must be explosion-proof and have measures to eliminate static electricity.
  • Do not overmix unsaturated polyester resins, vinyl ester resins and gel coats. Overmixing can destroy thixotropy and cause production to sag. At the same time, it can also lead to monomer loss and voids in the product. It is recommended to mix the materials thoroughly for about ten minutes before use.
  • During the production process, the curing agent must be mixed evenly. In order to ensure full curing, the process route must be strictly followed.

storage guide

  • Liquid materials, including unsaturated polyester resins, vinyl ester resins, gel coats and adhesives, have a shelf life. It will gel or even harden if it is not reinforced after the shelf life. Deterioration time depends on different formulation systems and storage conditions.
  • All unsaturated polyester resins, vinyl ester resins, gel coats and adhesives must be stored below 23°C and out of direct sunlight.
  • For every 10°C increase in storage temperature, the shelf life of the resin will be halved. As a result, some fast-cure materials will have a shorter shelf life than standard products.
  • The minimum storage temperature of the resin should not be lower than 16°C. If the resin is cold, it is recommended to stir it properly before use.
  • If the resin is stored outdoors, it must be kept away from sunlight, heat sources and other factors such as water, snow, ice, etc. There should be no standing water on the lid. Once the barrel is opened, the vacuum created by the temperature difference inside the barrel mixes this water into the resin. Once the resin is opened, its shelf life will be shortened. It is recommended to follow the "first start, first use" principle when working with resins.
  • Contaminants can have a great impact on resin stability. It is recommended to keep the resin sealed when not in use.
  • Shake well before using stale material due to limited shelf life.
