Hollow glass microspheres, also known as glass bubbles, are often used as a replacement for traditional fillers and additives such as silica, calcium carbonate, talc, and clay. Low-density microspheres are lightweight and strong, allowing formulators and manufacturers to reduce density and achieve significant weight savings while improving dimensional stability and impact strength in finished products. Compared to solid fillers, hollow microspheres are only half or quarter the weight, with a proportional increase in volume, which can significantly reduce the weight of the final product without compromising physical strength and integrity.
