Cast coke/metallurgical coke is the main fuel for melting iron in the furnace. It melts the material in the furnace, brings the iron to a very high heat, and maintains good air permeability by maintaining the material column. Therefore, cast coke should have the following characteristics: large block size, low reactivity, small porosity, sufficient compressive strength, low ash content, and low sulfur content.
