The main use of fluorite powder in industry is that it is a flux and slag removal agent for iron-making, steel and iron alloys in the metallurgical industry, and a raw material for the production of slag cryolite. The electrolyte is used as a flux, enamel whitening agent, and glass opacifier in the production of electrolytic aluminum. It is the basic raw material for the production of anhydrous hydrofluoric acid in the chemical industry and the fluorine chemical industry. Fluorite powder is also a mineralizer for the production of cement clinker in the cement industry. It can reduce the sintering temperature, is easy to calcine, has a short firing time, and saves energy. It is also a raw material for the production of emulsified glass, opalescent glass and colored glass in the glass industry and can reduce the sintering temperature. The glass melts, improves the melt, accelerates melting, thereby reducing the fuel consumption ratio. In the ceramic industry, fluxes and emulsions in the process of making ceramics and enamels are also one of the indispensable ingredients in the preparation of glazes.
1. Metallurgical industry. Fluorite can lower the melting point of refractory substances, promote the flow of slag, separate the slag from the metal, play the role of desulfurization and dephosphorization during the smelting process, and enhance the forgeability and tensile strength of the metal. Therefore, it is widely used as a flux in steel smelting and ferroalloy production, iron smelting processes and non-ferrous metal smelting. Smelting fluorspar ore generally requires the calcium fluoride content to be greater than 65%. There are also certain requirements for the main impurity silica, and there are strict restrictions on sulfur and phosphorus. The sulfur and phosphorus contents should not be higher than 0.3% and 0.08% respectively.
2. Chemical industry. The main production raw materials are anhydrous hydrofluoric acid and basic fluorine chemical raw materials (Freon, fluoropolymers, fluorine-containing fine chemicals).
3. Cement industry. The production of cement clinker mineralizer can reduce the sintering temperature, is easy to calcine, shortens the calcining time, and saves energy.
4. Glass industry. The raw materials for producing emulsified glass, opaque glass, and colored glass can reduce the melting temperature of glass, improve the melt, accelerate melting, and thus reduce the fuel consumption ratio.
5. Ceramic industry. Fluxing agents and opacifying agents used in the production of ceramics and enamel are also indispensable ingredients in glaze preparation.
