Sepiolite mineral fiber has good adsorption, decolorization, thermal stability, anti-corrosion, anti-radiation, heat insulation, anti-friction, anti-permeation and other properties, widely used in drilling, petroleum, medicine, brewing, building materials, pesticides, fertilizers, rubber Products, Brakes, etc.
Sepiolite is a magnesium-rich hydrous chain silicate mineral, which has two origins of leaching hydrothermal type and sedimentary type. The former is mostly fibrous, and the latter is mostly fine-grained flakes. Fibrous sepiolite belongs to the former as a friction enhancing material. Sepiolite has a large specific surface area and strong adsorption capacity, which enables it to have a good interface effect with the resin and filler in the friction material, and can well adsorb the binder during the mixing process, showing good performance. Good wettability, can be evenly mixed with fillers. In addition, the pore structure of sepiolite can gather the small molecular gas produced by thermal decomposition of polymer binder in the pores instead of on the friction surface, which is beneficial to reduce the thermal recession of friction materials.
