Product Description

High quality calcium oxide CaO Cas No 215-138-9 Quick Lime

Calcium oxide (CaO), commonly known as quicklime or quicklime, is a compound with a wide variety of uses. It is a white, corrosive, alkaline, crystalline solid at room temperature. The widely used term lime denotes a calcium-containing inorganic material in which carbonates, oxides and hydroxides of calcium, silicon, magnesium, aluminum and iron predominate. In contrast, quicklime is particularly suitable for the single compound calcium oxide. Calcium oxide that survives processing without reacting in building products such as cement is called free lime.
Because quicklime reacts violently with water, quicklime can cause severe irritation when inhaled or when it comes into contact with moist skin or eyes. Inhalation may cause coughing, sneezing, difficulty breathing. Burns may then develop with septal perforation, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. While quicklime is not considered a fire hazard, its reaction with water can release enough heat to ignite combustible materials.

application

Analytical reagents, spectral analysis reagents, fluorescence mechanism. Auxiliary solvent, vegetable oil decolorizer, gas analysis, used in carbon dioxide absorber. Epitaxy, diffusion process for many reagents used in semiconductor production.
