The starting temperature of tanning should be 15-20°C, and gradually rise to 35-40°C at the end of chrome tanning. 4According to the type and thickness of the rawhide, the alkalization should start 30-90 minutes after the start time and end in 2-3 hours. If sodium bicarbonate is used in the alkalization process, it should be diluted at least to a ratio of 1:10 in cold water and should be added slowly to the tanning bath in small portions to avoid larger fluctuations in the pH of the bath.
